The Centre is not about adding another institution to the long list of traditional institutions in India. It has before it a multi-pronged objective to achieve. It aims to produce graduates who, in full awareness of the critical phase through which the Muslim Ummah in general and the Muslims of India in particular are passing and, being fully equipped with the power of true faith and deep awareness of the Islamic and modern scholarship, will call the people groping in the darkness of ignorance to the true path of Islam. It also aims at enabling its alumni to counter the challenges posed to Islam not only from the machinations of its adversaries but also from the ignorance of its own ill-educated populace who are prey to evils like personality cult and deviant philosophies like Tasawwuf (mysticism) that amount to waging war on the true faith of Islam and the beliefs of its votaries. Last but not least, it aims at fighting the mischief of those 'enlightened' intellectuals within the community who, sick in their minds as they are, are out to make the people deviate from the right path through misrepresenting the true teachings of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah.
Special attention is, therefore, focused in the institutions run by the Centre on correcting the prevailing distortions in the Islamic beliefs, especially in the minds of our younger generations. And since it is our belief that it is only Allah's Book, the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet and the life-examples of his Companions that can save the Muslims from ruination in this world and in the Hereafter, the program of education that we have formulated is geared to seeking guidance directly from the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah as well as the life-examples, beliefs and morals of the worthy Companions of the Prophet (pbuh) and of our pious predecessors.
With these ends in view the syllabus prepared by the Centre gives primacy of place to the Holy Book and Sunnah , to the exegesis of the Holy Qur'an, to the creed of Monotheism and the exposition of the Islamic Law ( fiqh ) so that the graduates pass out with correct Islamic morals, values and beliefs. It is our firm belief that, given the right education and training based on the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah , the students will not deviate from the right path nor will they fall victim to evils like polytheistic beliefs and innovations in religion. Their grounding in the creed of the Oneness of Allah and right faith will, it is hoped, serve as a bulwark against any distortion or deviation from the true path carved out by the Islamic Shari'ah.
Second, in priority, in our curriculum comes the teaching of the Arabic language and literature whose deep knowledge is a must for the understanding of the Qur'an, the Sunnah and the Sacred Law of Islam.
Third in priority is the teaching of modern sciences. It is because it has been observed that lack of grounding in modern subjects and languages among the students taught and educated at traditional religious schools makes them more apt to suffering from low self-esteem, which impedes their march forward in life. This sadly leaves them with few options but to serve as Imams in Masjids or instructors in Islamic schools and seminaries.
Shorn of the knowledge of both traditional and modern education together, especially in this age of advanced science and information technology, our new generation will be ill-equipped to effectively carry out its work of inviting the people to the true faith and spread the message of Islam among them. And if our religious scholars fail to effectively deliver the message of Islam in the right spirit then, not to speak of others, even our own coming generations shall remain oblivious of the true teachings of Islam. It was this realization that propelled the Centre to establish institutions that will offer integrated education in the Quran and Sunnah; the creed of monotheism and the fundamental beliefs of Islam; the principles of jurisprudence as also the Arabic language, its grammar and literature, its rules of eloquence and composition and research as also the right method of performing the work of Da'wah and making a comparative study of religions and a study of the life-history of the Holy Prophet, the memorization of the Holy Quran as well as the teaching of English, Hindi and other regional languages together with geography, mathematics, science, economics and other modern subjects so that our graduates are properly equipped to meet the challenges of modern times.
